AWKA – Igbos for a Progressive and United Nationhood, IPAN, has vehemently condemned the gruesome murder of northern traders and their cows in Abia State.
IPAN called on Nigerian leaders, especially those eyeing the presidential seat in 2023, to speak out and stop pretending, for the sake of their egocentric reasons.
Recalled that last Tuesday, gunmen invaded the New Cattle Market at Omumauzor in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State, killing eight traders from the North and slaughtering over 20 cows.
The National President of the group, Lawrence Onuzulike described as barbaric and heartless.
Onuzulike who was speaking in pains while addressing journalists in Awka on Sunday, charged Abia State and federal government to work collaboratively to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
He said, ” We call on Northerners to please exercise patience and not to retaliate as the acts are carried out for uninformed people who are bent on bringing calamity against Igbo people in the north.
